4 Imaginative Wedding Themes For the Month of January

4 Imaginative Wedding Themes For the Month of January

As the holiday season now officially starts many brides are already about to have their holiday and winter weddings. However for the bride still planning their event, there are many other great times this winter to have their winter wedding. One great example is a January wedding. A January wedding has many advantages. It is after the bustle of the holiday season, it during the wedding off season, and you can find many interesting themes to use for the wedding. Here are some great ideas that you can use for a January wedding.

New Year's Wedding

The first great idea is a New Year's wedding.
This is perfect since January is the first month of the New Year. Also New Year's is also appropriate because they are also synonymous with new beginnings which a wedding is for you and your groom. The best part is the glamour and glitz that is possible with a New Year's theme everyone knows the look from classic movies or seeing New Year's Eve celebrations on TV every year.

This allows you to decorate your wedding venue in a sophisticate and astounding manner that you may not be able to do as effectively with other winter wedding themes. It also does not emphasize flowers which will be a boon especially during January when most flowers will have to be imported or grown in a hot house. As you know that means higher prices that can put a stranger on an otherwise well planned budget.

Winter Wedding
One common mistake when planning a winter wedding is the belief that there are only one or two ways to interpret a winter theme. It normally falls into categories that are variations of the winter wonderland theme. This while beautiful can quickly become cliche and unoriginal. This is something a bride wanting to make her ceremony and reception a special event tries to avoid. A unique idea would be to have an Arctic themed wedding. This would be a wedding that would integrate the best themes of winter with an exotic landscape. You would be able to find all sorts of interesting decorations that will make your wedding look unforgettable.

Golden Wedding
Another great idea is the Golden wedding. This one is kind of interesting. From what I gather in my research it is a great January theme because gold was first discovered in the United States in January 1848 in California. The Golden theme is one tied with majestic decorations and color schemes and the best part is that you don't have to follow the normal boring ice and snow theme. You will find yourself able to use more imaginative motifs and decorations than you would normally have available at your disposal.

Black and White Wedding
A great theme that you can work with for your wedding is a black and white wedding. This is a classic and formal wedding theme with everyone being required to dress in their best formal black and white clothes. It can also be the theme for the decorations. Try to add class and elegance with contemporary designs and add some sparkle with crystal and sequin decorations. This will make your wedding a formal event that few of your guests will ever recall having in a long time.

These are just some of the great ideas that you can use for a January wedding. They will allow you to see the possibilities that are there for the person who wants to plan a winter wedding after the holiday season.

How to Plan a Successful Wedding in Winter

How to Plan a Successful Wedding in Winter

Most people think that planning a winter wedding is considered as a gamble because of the cold weather. Contrary to the common belief, in my opinion, a winter wedding can be unique and memorable if you can hold the wedding successfully. Here I will give you some useful tips on planning a successful winter wedding.

Embrace the season instead of neglecting it

Some people do not want to let the season dictates their wedding styles at first, but finally they realize that it is wise to embrace the wedding season they choose. In winter, there are many beautiful and natural ornaments, such as feather-like snowflakes, naked trees, frosted leaves and some others. A lot of people prefer to choose winter wonderland theme for their wedding parties, so you can also try that theme.

Winter-themed wedding invitations

Generally speaking, white is reminiscent of snow, so it is a traditional color for winter-themed wedding invitations. As wedding invitation cards are not sophisticated, you can totally DIY the invitations.

First, you need to buy some basic invitation cards.
Second, you can use some embellishments on the basic invitations cards.
Third, you can use a beautiful bow at the top of the invitation.
Remember that you need to talk to a postman to make sure your invitations are flat enough to mail. Besides, the embellishments and bows can be bought at craft stores.

Choose the right flowers for your winter wedding

Holding a winter wedding does not mean you can not have fresh flowers in your wedding. There are also many lovely and beautiful flowers in winter, such as white Narcissus, orchid, Madagascar jasmine and many others. The flowers mentioned above are all fragrant flowers which can scent the air with their fragrance. Moreover, these colorful winter flowers can make your wedding vigorous and most importantly, they are not expensive because they are in season.

Try to keep all people warm

As the weather in winter is not warm, you had better not choose strapless or thin satin wedding dresses which will make you shiver and feel cold. Instead, you can consider wearing long sleeve wedding dresses and buying bridesmaid dresses with sleeves for your bridesmaids. Besides the dresses, you can also prepare some ear warmers, gloves, scarves and snow boots for both you and your bridesmaids. Grooms can wear wool suits to keep warm. In order to make your guests feel warm and comfortable, you can serve them hot drinks, such as warm cocktails, hot chocolate, mulled wine and some others.

If you still have some questions about wedding planning, you can read my other articles. It is hoped that we all can find the best way to plan the wedding.

Natural Winter Wedding Decorations

The winter season has some of the most beautiful natural decorations of any time of the year. Going well beyond flowers, these seasonal accents can be the perfect choice to decorate a wedding ceremony or reception. Learn more about how to use pinecones, cranberries, greenery, and much more to create a naturally beautiful winter wedding.

There are many beautiful things you can use to decorate your winter wedding. A great place to start is with seasonal greenery, such as boxwood, pine boughs, and holly. These can be used in numerous ways to beautify your wedding. Create a crisp and clean look with tidy square boxwood wreaths adorning the church doors. Hang them with wide silver ribbon for an elegant touch. Boxwood also works wonderfully to create a custom set of the bride and groom's first initials to decorate the doors to the venue, hang on their dinner chairs, or on a wall in the reception site. Pine boughs with long needles would be lovely around the bases of vases or hurricane lanterns, down staircase banisters, or as runners down the centers of long dinner tables. Twine holly around candelabras or on the backs of gold chiavari chairs.

Pinecones are a festive and inexpensive winter wedding decoration. They can be used in countless ways, and are great for the diy bride. Create a pinecone wreath to hang behind the head table at the wedding reception using a basic wire wreath frame, pinecones gathered from outdoors, wire, and ribbons. Wire in tiny round ornaments or faux berries to add some color and dimension to the pinecone wreath. Pinecones also make a wonderful addition to a winter bouquet. Dip the edges in glitter for a bit of sparkle, and wire the pinecones in among red and white winter blossoms. A small bouquet can even be created entirely out of pinecones for a unique wintery detail. It would be lovely for a bride who is wearing a silk dupioni gown with handmade wedding jewelry getting married in a woodsy setting. Other great uses for pinecones include using them to fill clear vases, hanging them on trees (paint them gold first), or tying around napkins with a red tartan ribbon for a charming addition to the table settings.

Fragrant oranges are another versatile natural material to use to decorate a winter wedding. They add a nice pop of color to winter decor. Arrange an assortment of oranges, pinecones, cinnamon sticks, and greenery in a low footed bowl for a quick yet festive way to dress up the guest book table, escort card table, or bar at the cocktail hour. To add a rich holiday fragrance to a winter wedding, create old-fashioned orange pomanders by studding oranges with cloves and hanging from ribbons. An orange pomander and a spray of pine greenery would make a marvelous pew decoration for the wedding ceremony.

Another colorful winter decoration is cranberries. Their bright red hue is a great contrast to the subdued colors of the season. Use fresh red cranberries as a filler for clear vases topped with white flowers as centerpieces. Garnish drinks with cranberries on cocktail picks for the cocktail hour. If you are trying to create a cozy winter wedding with red and white details in everything from the wedding cake to the handmade wedding jewelry, cranberries will really help to you pull it off. String fresh cranberries (or save yourself a lot of time and buy wooden strings of faux cranberries) to drape on chandeliers, intertwine with greenery around doorways, or to hang in groups for a modern take on a classic holiday decoration. By this point, your guests are going to be in a cranberry frame of mind, so treat them to cranberry-pear tartlets and cranberry martinis on the menu.

Natural decorations are such a wonderful way to celebrate the season, while also making your wedding festive and beautiful. Dress them up with crystals for a more formal winter wedding, or give them a homespun flair with lots of rustic accents. The colors, fragrances, and style of the natural elements are sure to make your wedding warm and inviting.

Winter is also a slow time for wedding spaces. Possible locations for a winter wedding include Bed and Breakfasts, Inns, Country Clubs, private estates and anywhere that provides a winter wonderland backdrop for your wedding. Think fireplaces and comfy, cozy locations. Mountain locations always provide a beautiful backdrop for a winter wedding.

Since wedding vendors and wedding spaces are less busy in the winter, you may be able to secure a great deal at a significant discount. When talking with wedding spaces and interviewing caterers, be sure to ask them if they have different packages for winter months. Many times they will offer different menu selections in winter months.

Here are some possible theme ideas for a winter wedding:
  • If your wedding is in February, consider having a Valentine's themed wedding.
  • Snowflakes are a sign of winter, and they can run through your entire wedding from your invitations to favors.
  • Ice is also a sign of winter, and you could have a blue ice themed wedding complete with ice sculptures and vodka bar.
  • If your wedding is in December, a Christmas themed wedding gets everyone in the mood for the holidays.

There are many different kinds of winter wedding bouquets on the market, and it is of course important to choose a florist who has a lot of experience in creating floral designs and bouquets for weddings.

Chances are you will be buying your winter wedding bouquets from the same florist who does your other wedding flowers, so it is important to shop around for the best value.

==View Bouquets Of The Florist's Past Work==

It is also always a good idea to look at other winter wedding bouquets the florist has created.

It is generally better and more desirable to look at the actual bouquets themselves, but if no such bouquets are available, you may be able to get an idea of the quality through photographs of past wedding ceremonies.
